The village Tatzmannsdorf originated with great certainty only in the 11th century as a Hungarian border guard settlement. The place was known for its mineral springs, which today are essential economic foundation. A highlight in its development to the spa brought the first half of the 19th century with it. Many important personalities, among them Adalbert Stifter in 1844 and Franz Grillparzer in 1852, stayed in Bad Tatzmannsdorf. The sources had already been opened up to a daily capacity of about 5,000 liters, there was a bathhouse with 30 cabins and all facilities, which at that time was a fashionable spa resort. Today Bad Tatzmannsdorf has a permanent place among the Austrian spas. In addition to the facilities of the spa was built in Bad Tatzmannsdorf 1967 an open-air museum. In a charming ensemble, here you will find folkloristic and architecturally interesting buildings of this borderland between Austria, Hungary and the former Yugoslavia. The brand image shows a rare draw fountain with wooden gear translation from the 19th century.
