The Zillertal is a right side valley of the Inn Valley, which runs almost exactly from south to north. Its length is from the mouth at Strass to Mayrhofen 30 kilometers, from Mayrhofen to the main ridge of the Zillertalter Alps 15 kilometers. Different from the broad main valley with its green slopes are the inner valleys, the "reasons" that fanned the Mayrhofen out of the Zillertal Alps. Already at the beginning of the 18th century, when people discovered the allure of the beauty of the Alps, the Zillertal was a special attraction. The guidebook "Tirol, a Handbook for Travelers" from 1838 already mentions that the Zillertal is frequently visited by strangers. The brand motif shows a group of houses not far from Mayrhofen. In the background you can see the mighty greenstone, in the center dark green forests line the mountain flanks. Beautiful houses, self-assured and happy people, a lovely valley - that is the triad of the Zillertal.
