Invincible Vietnam - Issue 1971 In support of the just struggle of the Vietnamese people, the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications of the German Democratic Republic issues another multi-colored special stamp with surcharge. The amount collected will be transferred to the Vietnam Committee of the Afro-Asian Solidarity Committee of the German Democratic Republic. Invincible Vietnam The history of the Vietnamese people, which has been traced since the year 257 before our time, was for centuries a history of the struggle against foreign rule, oppression and inhumanity. She has stayed in our days. At present, not only is this admirably brave people of Southeast Asia on the victorious advance to a peace in freedom and independence, with him in common front, the peoples of Laos and Cambodia. The enemy is powerful, cruel, murderous. The enemy is called American imperialism. Full of benevolence, the reactionary forces of the West German Federal Republic support him. But its power is limited, it fails in the fraternal alliance of the Indo-Chinese peoples with the international anti-imperialist solidarity, as in the all-round support by the Soviet Union and the political, moral and material help of other socialist states, not least the German Democratic Republic, becomes effective every day. This solidarity of action manifests itself in the manifold concern of all peoples, of all progressive movements that defend peace and fight for it, wherever it may be threatened. As an action of solidarity and the confession of the just cause of Vietnam as well as the peoples of Laos and Cambodia, this contribution, the publication of a further postage stamp "Invincible Vietnam", wants to be understood. The imprint symbolically depicts a young Vietnamese woman putting her protective hands around her child. The rifle over her shoulder, she embodies the indomitable, fearless, triumphant Vietnam, fighting, working and protecting the future. The history of Vietnam has known many heroic women since the popular uprising against the rule of Chinese dynasties, who selflessly gave their lives in battle, rather than submit to oppression. Every Vietnamese child learns the saga of the sisters Trung Trac and Trung Nhi. They encouraged the people to fight against the despots of the Chinese emperor. Equipped with spears, crossbows, sickles and bush knives and in the heart of sacrifice, love for freedom, it broke the power of violence for the first time, if only for a short time. Since this survey in the years 39 to 41 recorded the chronicle of the liberation struggle in Southeast Asia innumerable exploits of Vietnamese women and mothers. "We thank the women," said Ho Chi Minh, "who have borne so many Vietnamese heroes." That too is history. For the women longed for a better life for their children, a life in humanity, full of happiness and beauty. So they raised their sons and daughters to the revolutionary fight against oppression. It is certain that Vietnam's people and the peoples of Laos and Cambodia will win. Because they know the way to the goal and in the alliance with the international solidarity fight to this goal. It is also certain that the courage and heroism of women and mothers in Indo-China will be listed on a special page of glory in the book of the history of the liberation struggle. This will later be remembered by those who purchase the invaluable postage stamp "Invincible Vietnam" to practice solidarity, to help bring freedom and independence to the peoples of Southeast Asia as quickly as possible.
