From August 30th to September 8th, the International Radio Exhibition takes place at the Berlin Exhibition Center under the radio tower. The fair is the most important in the world in the field of consumer electronics. The unmistakable profile of the International Radio Exhibition is due to its versatility. It is an attractive show for the general public, a top-tier media event with over 3,000 journalists from over 100 countries, and at the same time Europe's most important consumer electronics fair. More than 90% of manufacturers operating in the world market present themselves under the radio tower. On their stands you can see the latest developments in entertainment and communication electronics, which will then start their triumphal march around the world from Berlin. For a long time, the radio exhibition in Berlin has caused a sensation. From the premiere in 1924, she has presented many attractions: for example, in 1928 the first public television broadcast, 1950 the start of the VHF radio, 1963 the stereophonic, 1967 came color in the television, 1983 screen text, 1987 CD video, 1989 the new TV standards D2-MAC and HD-MAC as well as the launch of digital satellite radio. And also in 1991 important accents are set. For the first time consumer-oriented telecommunications will be represented. Parallel to the radio exhibition, the International Media Dialogue '91 will take place in Berlin. In various series of events, technical and economic aspects of telecommunications are made transparent. As part of the media dialogue, Deutsche Bundespost TELEKOM is hosting a TELEKOM forum for the first time. The top management of TELEKOM and well-known external experts will give talks and discuss the future perspectives of telecommunications in the mobile, TV and radio sectors. The Internationale Funkausstellung is an important basis for information and dialogue for Deutsche Bundespost TELEKOM. Central points of contact for interested parties are Halls 19 and 20. Under the motto »scale of the future«, current services are presented there, which point the way forward over the decade. The focus is on the subject areas of mobile radio, TV and radio broadcasting. These areas are currently developing with great momentum. At the International Consumer Electronics Exhibition TELEKOM demonstrates its concept: Mobile communications with a system. This concept ensures tailor-made solutions to any mobile communication problem. In action, the new digital radio telephone network D1 will be on display. In addition, the proven C network with nationwide coverage, Cityruf - the pager with the "Piep", Modacom -, a system for mobile data transmission and the new dimension of the operating radio, the trunk radio service CHECKER. In the area of ​​TV and radio broadcasting, TELEKOM documents its responsibility and competence for the provision of broadcast infrastructure throughout Germany.
