The aim of the International Congress of Horse Breeding is to constantly promote and intensify the friendship and cooperation of the socialist states in the field of horse breeding and horse racing. Particular concern is the comprehensive application of scientific and technical progress and the joint performance of performance tests, in order to achieve through this way, a faster performance increase in the horse breeding of the socialist states. The cooperation between the socialist states in the Congress is constantly being developed in accordance with the principle of full equality and mutual benefit, and thus directly fulfills the tasks of horse breeding in building socialism in our countries. These tasks are in the cultural-sports area, the horse offers a variety of opportunities for recreation and upgrading and the interesting and sophisticated leisure activities for the working people in the form of canter and harness racing, Pflerdleistungsungsschauen as well as in the context of riding and touring tourism. 25 Pfennig value: Haflinger The country of origin of the Haflinger is South Tyrol. Since 1956, his breed is also operated in the GDR and focuses in particular on the southern districts. With 134 to 142 cm height at the withers, it is one of the small horse breeds. Special characteristics such as hardness, endurance, sure-footedness and good-natured temperament ensure that this horse is extremely suitable for riding and touring tourism, especially in the mountainous regions of our republic, as well as for use as a children's riding horse. Typical for this breed of horse are chestnut color and bright longhair, which together with a dry, noble head and harmonious physique give this horse an unmistakable character.
