The black grouse belongs to the family Rauhfußhühner. It is an extremely adapted to the severe winter bird species whose habitat is lost in many other regions of Central Europe. Sufficiently large areas find the animals still in the Alpine region. But here too the abandonment of pastures and alpine tourism leads to a loss of habitat. The black grouses will therefore need the help of us humans. We have to get their courtship. A first step towards this is the transmission of information during the construction of winter sports facilities. The care of alpine pastures and the enlightenment by hunters and alpine clubs are further important steps to secure the future of the "black knights". The protection and preservation of nature is an important concern of the POST AND TELEKOM AUSTRIA. She has therefore dedicated a special postage stamp to the black grouse. The brand image shows courtship black grouse.
