Historic Memorials in Weimar 25-pfennig value: Herderhaus Behind the town church stands the house in which Johann Gottfried Herder (1744-1803) from 1776 until his death had his official residence. The old Renaissance building was given its final shape during a reconstruction in the years 1726 - 1727. In this house Herder acted as head of the highest church authority and as a preacher in the court and town church.
