Historical Coins The Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications of the German Democratic Republic issues five multicolored postage stamps with illustrations of historical coins. Special cancellation from 2 September to 1 November 1986 35-pfennig value: Taler of the city Nordhausen 1660 In Nordhausen, which was first mentioned in the 9th century, 1220 was raised to the free imperial city, was since the 12th century, a Reich Münzstätte. The city acquired the law of coins in 1538 as a pledge property and coined from 1556 to 1686 own coins, including thalers, on which they are called as here 1660 in the transcription express free imperial city. On the imperial immediacy in the artistically designed character also the Nordhäuser city sign with the imperial eagle under buffalo horn and rich blanket.
