Special cancellation from 2 September to 1 November 1986 1.00 mark value: Taler of the city of Sralsund 1622 The city of Sralsund acquired the right to mint coins in 1319 and issued its own coins until 1763, which usually show an arrowhead independent of nominal. So also the Taler from 1622, which carries on the back the value number 32, which means that the Taler corresponded to 32 Schillingen. This bill applies to the northern German area, while otherwise the taler was divided into 24 groschen. The word Stral, which goes back to the Slavic, means arrow, and this explains the inclusion of this device in the coat of arms of Stralsund.
