The Junkers F 13 embodies the world's first airliner, built in full-metal with a closed cabin. The F 13 became the basis for the development of modern commercial aircraft. For the first time, low-deck construction and self-supporting structures were combined in this aircraft. The prototype of the F 13, developed by Junkers chief designer Otto Reuter, flew for the first time on June 25, 1919, equipped with a Mercedes D-IIIa engine that provided 126 kW. More than 60 versions of the Junkers F 13 were built with engines up to 265 kW. The aircraft was intended for 1 to 2 crew and 4 to 5 passengers; The span was 17.75 m, the wing area 40 m2, the payload developed from 700 kg to 1220 kg, the cruising speed from 140 to 175 km / h, the service peak height from 4,000 to 5,100 m. The plane was built until 1933.
