Max Pechstein (1881-1955) was a member of the Dresden artist group »Brücke«. The painting "Seated Female Nude" (1910) was created in the context of a joint working stay with Ernst Ludwig Kirchner and Erich Heckel on the Moritzburg Lakes near Dresden. This form of nude painting in nature became an expression of an informal archaic attitude to life, for which they developed new artistic design possibilities. (Text: Dr. Martina Padberg, Bonn)
