The circle of invited artists was limited in this case to the city of Cologne and its surroundings. The task was consciously general in order to allow the graphic artists a free unfolding of their thoughts. Hubert Berke, Joseph Faßbender and Hann Trier each have a proposal, and three proposals by Anton Wolff. In the foreground of the consideration of the art advisory was from the outset the design of Joseph Faßbender, who picks up on the motive of the official poster for the Katholikentag - the oath hand with the overlying floor plan of the Cologne Cathedral. The thematic affinity of poster and postage stamp promises a strong effect in the public. Therefore, the preparatory committee for the German Katholikentag welcomed the decision of the Art Advisory Council.
