With the present special stamp "Landhaus Bacher" the tasteful series "Gastronomy with tradition" now finds its well-maintained continuation. The brand motif shows the cozy and elegant ambience of the restaurant and a sweet seduction of the culinary art. The Landhaus Bacher in Lower Austria Mautern offers home cooking in its most exciting way, nowhere else harmonize "Kuchl" and "Cuisine" as perfect as here. Most of the country's gourmets and critics are largely in agreement: Landhaus Bacher is Austria's best Mediterranean restaurant. The history of the house goes back to the 1950s. The inn of Lisl Bacher's parents quickly developed into a meeting place for film stars when the Wachau was the setting for numerous film comedies. Peter Alexander, Gunther Philipp, Hans Moser and Peter Weck gave each other a hand in their hands, while stars like Sternchen enjoyed the high-class yet down-to-earth cuisine. In 1979, Lisl Wagner-Bacher took over the inn from her parents and acquired her first Gault Millau hood three years later, and a year later the second and the title "Chef of the Year 1983". In 1988 followed the third hood and in 1991 the "Trophée Gourmet for Creative Cuisine" of "A la Carte", where the Landhaus Bacher has been ranked number one in Austria with 99 out of 100 points for several years. In the 2004/2005 published Michelin guide the Landhaus Bacher was immediately awarded two Michelin stars. For several years now, the new chef and chef of the year 2009, son-in-law Thomas Dorfer, sets fresh accents. He consistently continues the path taken by mother-in-law Lisl Wagner-Bacher, but always designs the kitchen with fresh impulses. In the coming years, Landhaus Bacher will remain as it is: connected to the Austrian cooking tradition and yet excitingly innovative. In the country house Bacher is not only fed fine, also oenological treasure hunters come here guaranteed on their account. The wine cellar, created by Patron Klaus Wagner-Bacher and sommelier Andreas Rottensteiner with great personal passion, is one of the best in the country. Especially wines from the Wachau and Bordeaux are represented with sheer unbelievable vintage depth. No wonder, then, that such famous wine connoisseurs as Hardy Rodenstock always choose the Landhaus Bacher for rarity tastings. There are also regular wine-growing evenings throughout the year.
