Hunting in the GDR On the subject of "hunting in the GDR", the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications of the German Democratic Republic publishes six multicolored special postage stamps. Special cancellation from 15 November 1977 to 14 January 1978 Hunting in the GDR 25-pfennig value: fox in front of ascending mallard The mallard is the duck species that is hunted by the hunters most of the species of duck in the GDR. The firing amounts to 38,400 pieces annually. The hunters create nesting aids in the form of nest boxes for the ducks. It is absolutely necessary to keep the predatory game and especially the fox short for the herd of small game. On the other hand, the fox is the wild species that spreads rabies the most. To combat rabies and obtain high-quality smoker's work, the fox is hunted with the weapon and caught in safety gear. Every year about 56,000 foxes are killed or captured in the GDR.
