A "stamp with vision" was sought - the topic was "Visions of Austria's future": How will Austria develop economically, socially and culturally in the coming decades? Presenting this vision on a 35x35 millimeter stamp was the challenge of the competition. The subject of the winning stamp of a brand competition organized by Austrian Post together with the daily newspaper Die Presse is titled "Zerreißprobe" and shows the red lettering "Austria". A deep crack, held together by two clamps, runs through the writing. The creator of the motif, Hannes Glantschnig, explains that the idea for this design arose from the headlines of the media, which spoke after the first runoff election for the presidential election in May 2016 of a "deep division of the country". "Even if a deep rift goes through Austria, we must do everything we can to cement this break, so that the unity of our country will be maintained in the future," says the designer. As a particular detail, the face value of the stamp of 68 cents is typographically integrated into the last two letters of the lettering. In 2008, Hannes Glantschnig co-founded the advertising agency Studio5 kommunikations Design, based in Baden near Vienna, as creative director together with Doris Steiner. Every job becomes a tailor-made project according to the principle "no design without concept".
