The price for the increasing mobility of humans and the increasing industrialization on the globe is an increasing burden of nature and environment. The forest also suffers more and more from the harmful influences of modern consumer society. The increasing consumption of wood and the clearing intensity of our time does the rest to destroy the green lung of the earth. Around 15 million hectares, which is about 820 times the size of Lake Neusiedl, disappear annually and the trend is unfortunately increasing. Austria's wood stocks are not overwhelmed. According to the results of the Austrian Forest Inventory 1971/80, the Austrian forest is very rich in wood. Aware of the importance of the forest, 1984 was declared the year of the forest in 1985. This should underline the efforts that should be made in the future to conserve the forest. The brand image shows a forest in the healthy and damaged state, as well as some pollutants.
