The special stamp series "For the Youth" appears with supplements in favor of the "Stiftung Deutsche Jugendmarke e.V.". This promotes with the contract proceeds measures for the benefit of youth in Germany. The current block issue shows in five scenes the "father and son" story "Discovery of a Schlitterbahn" by the graphic artist Erich Ohser. Erich Ohser was born on 18 March 1903 in Untergettengrün in Vogtland. In 1907 he moved to Plauen with his family. From 1920 to 1921 he studied at the Academy of Graphic Arts and Book Trade in Leipzig. Erich Kästner, who worked as an editor at the Neue Leipziger Zeitung, employed him in 1924 as a draftsman. Both were dismissed in 1927 after a controversial publication on the 100th anniversary of Ludwig van Beethoven's death. In Berlin, Erich Ohser worked from 1929 to 1933 for the Social Democratic magazine Vorwarts. In political cartoons he dealt critically with National Socialism. In 1934, the Reich Association of German Press Draftsmen denied him membership, which amounted to a prohibition on his profession. From 1934 to 1937 he published "Father and Son" stories under the condition that he depict non-political. He drew under the name »e. o. plauen «-» e. o. "for Erich Ohser and" plauen "for the place where he grew up. From 1940 he worked for the National Socialist newspaper Das Reich. Denounced because of privately voiced criticism of National Socialism, Ohser was arrested on March 28, 1944. The threatening death sentence in mind, Erich Ohser took on April 6, 1944 in his prison cell the life.
