The brand motif shows the Austrian coat of arms, as it has been customary since 1945. It is the one-headed black eagle turned to the right, tanned and armed, carrying on its head a triangular mural crown, in its right claw a sickle, holding in its left a hammer. The catches reveal two parts of a broken chain. This form was determined by the law of May 1, 1945, St.G.Bl.Nr.7, on coats of arms, color, seals and emblems of the Republic of Austria (coat of arms law). The eagle as a symbol of the resurrected Austria, is the old army banner of the Roman emperors. Today's state coat of arms resumes that of the first republic (1919), which had the same shape but was shown without broken chains.
