Austria, the land of the mountains, is enthusiastic about football. Snow-covered alps and green lawns become the "brand symbol" - they have inspired Stefan Gritsch from West Styria to this design. He lets the flags of Austria and Switzerland - the two countries jointly organize the UEFA EURO 2008 ™ - merge into each other, dividing the sky and the earth or the dream and reality with a curved line, indicating at the same time that they are two fancies align the UEFA EURO 2008 ™. Even though there are no UEFA EURO 2008 ™ matches in Styria, the 16-year-old from Gleinstetten has nevertheless committed himself and with obvious success - his design was voted winner of the state of Styria - participated in the 2007 student drawing competition. The talented young man is a student of the Bundesoberstufenrealgymnasium in Deutschlandsberg.
