Andreas Herzog, born on September 10, 1968 in Vienna, holds Austrian record with 103 international appearances, in which he scored 26 goals. No doubt: He scored one of his most important goals on 6 September 1997 at the World Cup qualifier against Sweden. In front of 48,000 fans in the sold-out Vienna Ernst Happel Stadium, he fired his left foot into the Kreuzeck from about 20 meters away defeating Swedish goalkeeper Thomas Ravelli. This dream goal in the 76th minute ensured the former 1-0 victory - an important building block for the group win of the Austrian national team in the World Cup qualifier in 1998. This historic shot on goal is in a sense "content" of the new special stamp - a stamp that something quite What's special is that it does not just show a single image, but a whole "movie", so to speak. The magic word that makes a picture of this kind possible is called "lenticular technique". In a special production process, the individual images of the film, which has a duration of about three seconds (and reproduces the entire torso scene), are processed and combined using lenticular technology to form only one image. By manually moving the photo creates the impression of "continuous action"; Popularly such products are also often referred to as so-called "wobbly pictures". Really new to international philately is the rendition of a whole movie - never before has it been seen on postage stamps. This special stamp will, therefore, be sure to attract a lot of attention - even outside philatelic circles! Speaking of Andi Herzog: Since 1 March 2005, the former football star has been ÖFB's ambassador for UEFA EURO 2008 ™. His tasks are primarily targeted advertising for selected ÖFB sponsors and for the European Football Championship, game observations in Germany and abroad in cooperation with the ÖFB coaching staff and the team leader and the advice of youth players. After his successful international sports career, Herzog has been the personal assistant of team boss Josef Hickersberger since the beginning of 2006.
