The UEFA European Football Championship 2008 will take place from 7 to 29 June 2008 in Austria and Switzerland. Austrian Post AG, the national sponsor of the UEFA EURO 2008 ™, will present the UEFA EURO 2008 ™ mascots "Trix and Flix" at the brand block. The two are dressed as footballers and wear with red and white the national colors of the host countries. Her bright red, jagged hairstyles are reminiscent of the mountains of Austria and Switzerland, symbolically depicted in the official UEFA EURO 2008 ™ logo. Preparations for the European Championships are already in full swing. New stadiums are being built and ticket sales have already begun. The qualification qualifying matches will be completed by November 2007. 50 teams compete for 14 qualifying places in seven groups with back and forth games. Only the first two of each group as well as the teams of the host countries are allowed to participate in the European Championship. Austria is thereby for the first time at a football European Championship. On 2 December 2007, the draw will be held in Lucerne for the four groups of the European Championship final rounds. In total, 31 games will be played at the European Championship. The opening match of the UEFA European Football Championship will be kicked off at the St. Jakob-Park stadium in Basel. The other venues in Switzerland are Geneva, Zurich and Bern. In Austria you play in Innsbruck, Salzburg, Klagenfurt and Vienna. The final match of the UEFA European Football Championship will take place at the Ernst Happel Stadium in Vienna. The 13th European Championship finals will be the biggest sporting event ever in Austria and Switzerland. Six billion TV viewers worldwide will watch the sports spectacle. There are 23 days of diverse encounters waiting for the host country. Hundreds of thousands of football fans from all over Europe will join the 16 best football national teams in Europe. That is why the slogan was created for the UEFA EURO 2008 ™: experience emotions! That is what this event will offer: emotions of all sorts, joy and disappointment, entertainment and high voltage until the final whistle!
