The Wachau, located in the heart of Lower Austria, in the Danube Valley, is perhaps one of the most charming landscapes in Austria. The climate of this region has been favoring winegrowing for 1000 years. The cultural heritage inherited from this tradition also includes a multitude of costumes, of which the Wachau gold bonnet is probably one of the most striking.
