From the year 1678 until the 60s of our century, the continuous activity of the wine-grower can be traced back to the vineyards around Neustift am Walde. Commonly known as "Hiata", his duties were mainly in the supervision of the vineyards to prevent theft of grapes, bird feeding and similar incidents. Since 1753, the wine keeper of Neustift am Walde also had the task of holding a Kirtag, where he with the historic winegrower crown every year in a festive procession, on the day of the patron saint of the local church, the St. Rochus, takes place, introducing the local winemakers.
