From 1 May to 31 October 2010, the Expo 2010 World Expo will take place in the East China metropolis of Shanghai, with the motto of this major event being "Better City, Better Life". The Expo site, which will host 227 nations and numerous international organizations, is 5.28 square kilometers and is located on both sides of the Huangpu River in close proximity to the city center. The main attraction, the so-called "Expo Axis", is a nearly 1000 meters (!) Long central main building with the world's largest membrane construction.
