As part of the special postage stamp series »Post« with the integrated EUROPA stamp, Germany issued four stamps with various greetings in 2008. On February 7, the motifs "Alles Gute!" And "Congratulations" appeared on May 8, followed by "Kind regards" and "Danke." The American star artist James Rizzi, who collects stamps himself, designed the four brand motifs in his characteristic design. His designs embody the idea of "Greetings for every occasion" in an almost perfect way: writing letters should give pleasure throughout the year, and with the sympathetic stamps, the letter also becomes a small art object. In the motif for "Greetings," James Rizzi was inspired by the stars: "Just as the sun greets us every morning of our lives and warms us with its rays, the rising crescent moon brings light into the night, so bring my little Rizzi Bird the cordial greetings of the letter writer. "The stamp is Germany's contribution to the series» EUROPA «. In this series since 1956 special stamps in various European countries to a common theme. This year, all issues of the series deal with the topic »Letters«.
