With the word ecology, we combine topics such as environmental protection and air pollution, energy saving and renewable energy, organic agriculture and sustainability through to ecological housekeeping, waste separation and "eco-fashion" made of natural fibers and fair trade. "Think Green" is the buzzword: many individuals, businesses and organizations are trying to make their contribution to protecting the environment, making the world a little greener again. Austrian Post is also active in this regard. As part of the "CO2 neutral delivery" initiative, all letters and mail in Austria are sent CO2 neutrally. The basis for this is the avoidance of emissions and the increase in efficiency, for example through route optimization. In addition, Swiss Post relies on renewable energy - since 2012, it has been sourcing electricity exclusively from renewable energy sources and, in part, also producing it itself, such as the photovoltaic system at the letter center in Vienna-Inzersdorf. Furthermore, it has the largest e-mobility with 862 electric vehicles Austria and also supports national and international climate protection projects in areas such as energy efficiency, geothermal energy and sustainable forest management. The brand image for the 2016 EUROPA brand was selected by PostEurop among the 24 submissions that participated in the design competition. The designer Doxia Sergidou designed it for the Cypriot postal company. Their ambition was to show that we all have it in our hands to make our planet more ecological - symbolized by a hand that transcends the gray, polluted industrial city on the left side of the brand through a green, vibrant landscape ".
