Between Mettlach and Merzig, the Saar draws a famous loop. The Saar is a tributary of the Moselle and 246 km long. Since November 20, 1947, the French currency was 1 Franc = 100 centimes on the Saarland stamps. the editorial board therefore records the nominal values of catalog numbers 226 to 378 in centimes.
