This stamp is part of the second series of stamps of the Saarland, the so-called »Saar II«. With letterpress imprint of the French currency franc = 100 centimes. Here is marshal Michel Ney (1769-1815), Prince of Moscow. He served as Marshal under Napoleon I and was shot in 1815 after the Battle of Belle Alliance. He deserted to Louis XVIII in 1814, but returned to Napoleon I in 1815. Since November 20, 1947, the French currency was 1 Franc = 100 centimes on the Saarland stamps. the editorial board therefore records the nominal values of catalog numbers 226 to 378 in centimes.
