The motif shows the Frauentor, today also Ravensburger Tor, called city gate of Wangen im Allgäu. The building in Herrenstraße was first mentioned in 1472, but probably already exists since the city was founded. Until 1608, it had only a pitched roof, after which it was redesigned to its present appearance. Today the gate has a renaissance and corner turrets. It was last renovated in 1988. The catalog numbers 1 to 3, 5 to 7, 10, 12 and 13 appeared in August and September 1947 or in January and February 1948. For the sake of systematics, the editorial board records the first day of each month as the first day of issue.
