The "Stamp Day" was used by the Bund Deutscher Philatelisten in October 1977 with ten central exhibitions and special stamps to draw attention to the many possibilities of collecting stamps, stamps and post-historical documents. A hobby that enhances your own knowledge and helps to make worldwide contacts. The German Federal Post Office honors the "Stamp Day" by issuing a special postage stamp. The mark 1977 shows the post office sign of a postexpedition in Hamburg after 1861. On the sign the complete large national coat of arms of Hamburg in modernized form is represented. It consists of the blazon with white castle in red field, two looking backwards lion as shield holder, helmet and helmet decoration. The Posthorn hangs on the ornate pedestal of the shield holder. Due to the special situation, post offices of various other states were active in Hamburg in addition to the Hamburg Post Office. The municipal postal service was taken over by the Senate in 1821 and led by a provisional commission, which in 1832 transferred the city post office to the organization of the Hamburg state. On January 1, 1868, the Hamburg City Post Office was incorporated into the postal administration of the North German Confederation. The foreign post offices had to cease their operations - some earlier, some later. Each original sign is located in the Federal Postal Museum in Frankfurt am Main and in the posthistoric collection of the Oberpostdirektion Hamburg.
