After 10 years of depicting one letter each of the two words philatelic and stamp, there was a widespread desire for variety and for a closer to the mark issue for the stamp on the "Stamp Day" in the direction of philately. Thus spoke the president of the federation of the Austr. Philatelistenvereine Erich Bober with his proposal to represent railway mail cars from different eras, literally from the heart of philatelists. Similar to the "On the way to WIPA" small bows now the railway wagons of the monarchy, as well as the first and the second republic should be on three new brands. For a long time, there will be no more railway facilities, because the stops in the stations are too short for a postal consignment and stationary bulk sorting systems generally displace the hand sorting of the mail. The brand artist Maria Siegl designed the brand for 2001 based on a model from the Vienna Technisches Museum. In Austria, the first "k.u.k. fahrende Postamt" ran on the route between Vienna and Oderberg. But because the railway mail needed more space than the usual 2-axle car offered, two coupled together, removed the mutually facing back and front wall and joined the outer walls by a leather bellows. The stamp is printed in sheetlets in 10 fields, with every second field - once left and once right of the stamp - is a decorative field, which is printed with three railway postmarks from the early days.
