As in the previous two years, the stamp motif represents a pair of letters of the two key words "philatelic" and "stamp." On the occasion of the "Stamp Day 1993", it is twice the letter "i". The interpretation of the motif representation goes beyond the pure decorative representation of the two letters. The white and the black knight should rather address the light and shadow sides of the stamp's history. A sign that the white knight will prevail, shows the history of counterfeiting of stamps and postage stamps, which today are hardly possible due to the quality in production.
