The postal transport system, which was the subject of this stamp commemorating the Stamp Day in 1988, is a central element of the postal organization, which also addresses the brand image with its depiction of a railway wagon. With the establishment of the first private horse-drawn railway in Europe on the European continent in 1832, Austrian Post for the first time experienced a change in its monopoly position in the carriage of postal items. The continuous development of railways in the following decades led to the first "k.u.k. fahrenden Postamt", which began work on August 1, 1850. This date ushered in a mutually fruitful cooperation of the carriers Post and Railway to our day. The template for the brand image of the special postage stamp dates from 1914 and shows employees loading a "traveling post office" in Pardubice in Bohemia.
