The brand image shows the Post Office and Telegraph Office "Linz 2", which was built in the years 1946 to 1952, as one of the first major offices for the reconstruction of the postal administration. As an outward sign of the celebrations for the "Stamp Day", in 1957, this stamp issued for the occasion went all over the world. As in previous years, the anniversary of the stamp was not only a great celebration, but also a review of the work done and the future prospects of philately. It was also a day on which special greetings to the stamp collectors abroad, in Europe as well as overseas, were addressed and in this way the worldwide affiliation of philatelists was demonstrated. The special stamp was awarded to the Association of Austrian Philatelic Associations and the Association of Austrian Stamp Collectors Associations, the application of the Austrian stamps at home and abroad and the promotion of Austrian philately.
