In the past, waterways used to have a much more significant position in traffic. The roads were bad, driving on the water relatively fast, safe and cheap. For the long-distance traffic from the western Germany to Vienna, the Danube played an extremely important role. The 24th of March, 1696, is considered the day from which Regensburg was constantly sending ships to Vienna, which, because they sailed regularly, were called Ordinari. In 1712 followed Ulm, 1750 Donauwörth, 1754 Linz. The brand motif shows a "Ulmer Ordinari" and in the background the Melk Abbey. After a drawing by Professor Schrom, which was designed using contemporary templates, this picture was created of a so-called Schwabenplätte. The Ordinari not only carried travelers and goods, but also got the mail. Thus, the reference of the brand image to the "Stamp Day" is given. Postal services have always been a central task of postal administrations around the world. This was an important aspect of the postal system, which found its way into the world with artistic perfection.
