10th FDGB Congress For the 10th FDGB Congress, the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications of the German Democratic Republic publishes three multicolored special postage stamps depicting works of art from the GDR. Special cancellation from April 20 to June 19, 1982 10th FDGB Congress From April 21 to 24, 1982, the 10th FDGB Congress will take place in Berlin, capital of the GDR. His delegates, elected according to the principles of intra-union democracy, represent the interests of nine million union members. The congress is the supreme organ of the Free German Trade Union Confederation. He is convened by the Federal Board of the FDGB at least once every five years. It is a significant highlight in the social life of the GDR. Like the previous trade union elections, the 10th Congress was marked by the realization of the decisions of the Xth Party Congress of the Socialist Unity Party of Germany. Under the leadership of the Party of the working class, the Free German Trade Union Confederation has played a major role in shaping the developed socialist society. As a representative of the working class and of all working people, he decides on all questions of social life in the GDR. Due to the constitution of the GDR and the Labor Code, he has rights to this, as they have never existed in the history of the German trade union movement. Priority of trade union activity is the preservation of peace. Closely related to this is the production of the lithograph "Mother with Child" by Walter Womacka, which can be seen on the 10-pfennig value of the issue. This symbol of life expresses what is important to the trade unionists of the GDR: putting all their strength into the balance of peace. This is the most important thing in trade union advocacy. As socialist patriots, in the spirit of proletarian internationalism and international class solidarity, they stand firmly by the side of all those who fight for the preservation of peace throughout the world. Like Walter Womacka and Willi Neubert, Karl-Heinz Jacob is the recipient of the FDGB Art Prize, which promotes the creation of socialist-realistic works of art by the trade unions. The 10th FDGB Congress will discuss the tasks of the most comprehensive class organization of the working class and all working people of the GDR in the further development of the developed socialist society and the trade union contribution to the preservation of peace. The decisions he has taken will give all spheres of trade union activity new impulses and concrete tasks for the eighties. It is the stated aim of the union members to continue to implement the policies of the people and the peace policy in the GDR.
