In the period from 23 to 27 June 1975, experts from more than 25 countries met in Vienna for an international exchange of experience in the field of cableways. Organizer of the 4th International Cable Car Congress was the "International Organization of the Cable Car Industry" (OITAF). As part of its mission, this organization organizes an international congress every six years. The choice of Austria as venue of the year 1975 should also point to the great importance of our country in cable car construction. In 1975, nearly 3,000 ropeway facilities were available. The first Austrian cable car for public transport was a funicular, the 1873 put into operation cable car on the Leopoldsberg. 1892 followed the fortress railway in Salzburg and 1894 the Graz Schlossbergbahn. The largest Austrian cable car project under construction in 1975 was the Olympic track in Innsbruck, which leads from the Axamer-Lizum-Alpe to the Hochgipfel. It was on the occasion of the XII. 1976 Winter Olympics put into operation. The brand image shows the Gosaukammbahn in Upper Austria.
