The festival takes place from 24 to 26 June 1988 in the district of Frankfurt (0), which was once - in 1965 - hosted the 7th Workers Festival. They are already symbols of the successful development of our republic: the semiconductor plant in Frankfurt (0.), the Eisenhüttenkombinat Ost in Eisenhüttenstadt, the oil processing plant in Schwedt, the Kranbau Eberswalde u. a. Significant achievements, such as the drainage of the Oderbruch, a rich historical architecture and modern housing, testify to the cultural traditions and creativity of the people of this region. The program of the 22nd Workers Festival will present a wide range of socialist culture and art. Amateur photographers exhibit in a central exhibition in Frankfurt (0.), the literature and library work are presented in a Frankfurt center, the workers' theaters in Schwedt, the amateur cabarets in Strausberg, the choir singers in Bad Freienwalde. The German Trade Union Federation of the Federal Republic of Germany sends artists from the Ruhrfestspiele to the 22nd Workers' Festival. The working people of socialist agriculture are organizing their 11th Culture Festival in Marxwalde and workers of different professions are organizing their festivals. The Ministry of Culture, the National People's Army, the Ministry of the Interior, the Free German Youth, the German Gymnastics and Sports Federation, the National Front, the Artists' Associations and the Academy of Arts will enrich traditionally and in many ways the artistic contributions of the festival program. 50 Pfennig value: Structures of the district city of Frankfurt (0) dominate this value. The view falls to the front of the Kleist Memorial and Research Center. The building was built in 1777 to designs by M. F. Knoblauch as a late baroque plaster construction and as a garrison school. On the right behind it is the early Gothic concert hall "Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach", former Franciscan church. It was built around 1270. It stands in the ensemble with the Collegienhaus, which was built in 1738/40 as a rectory. The towering building standing in the middle is the well-known Frankfurt city hall, which was built after 1253 as a department store and at the same time served as a town hall. It is an example of North German brick Gothic. Right behind the town hall rises the skyscraper in the Republic Square. It dominates in the city center. The 24-storey building is with 88.95 m highest society building of the district. The Oder with the Friedensbrücke completes the right part of the picture. In 1892 a bridge was built on this site according to plans by Malkomess. After the destruction in 1945, the current Peace Bridge was built in 1950 on the surviving pillar foundations.
