In 1951 he moved to the GDR and belonged to the National Council of the National Front until 1959. As Ambassador of the GDR in Hungary and in the Czechoslovak Republic, he worked in the spirit of friendship and cooperation between our countries and earned great merit. On December 17, 1978, Walter Vesper died in Berlin.
