Leipzig Spring Fair 1986 On the occasion of the Leipzig Spring Fair 1986, the Ministry of Postal and Telecommunications of the German Democratic Republic publishes two multicolored special postage stamps. Special cancellation from March 11 to May 10, 1986 50-pfennig value: factory trawler Atlantic 488 (type "Stralsund") The factory trawler "Atlantik 488" is built in the VEB Volkswerft Stralsund, which belongs to the Combine Shipbuilding Rostock. This trawler already represents the seventh generation of self-fishing fishing vessels, which are primarily intended for Soviet sea fishing and are developed and built in close cooperation with it. The ship is intended for the fishing and processing of own fish. It can work both autonomously and in the naval unit and in both temperate and tropical waters. Rides in icy waters are possible. The trawler is intended for bottom trawlers up to 2,000 m depth and pelagic trawlers up to 1,500 m depth and has equipment for the production of gutted and decapitated fish, fillet, canned fish, fishmeal and fish liver for technical purposes. For the crew of 115 modern living, social, service and medical rooms are available. The high level of automation of the systems ensures a 16-hour maintenance and operator-free operation of the machine area. The components used include microcomputer systems, microprocessors, integrated circuits and relay technology, as well as the "Ursadat", "Ursalog" and "Translog" systems. The ship has high-quality radio and navigation systems and a fish detection system. Taking into account the requirements of environmental protection, it is equipped with systems for bilge water leaching, ship waste water treatment and ship waste incineration. The ship has a length of about 120 meters; a width of 19 m, a draft of 6.40 m; a carrying capacity of 3,295 t and a free speed of 15 knots. The first ship of this series will be completed in the first half of 1986. Exporter is ship-dealer, the foreign trade company of the shipbuilding combine.
