Willi Sitte (born 1921) is concerned - as in all his works with his "Swimmer" (1971, oil, 122 x 95 cm, owned by the Museum of Fine Arts Leipzig) about the symbol of the socialist man, his personality qualities the will to increase performance, to win, to overcome oneself. This is about the affirmation of the human personality in the sportive confrontation, about the powerful commitment, from the artist's own perspective - partly above, partly below the surface of the water (20 + 10 Pfennig value).
