(Lent 1945). Otto Hahn 1910 Professor of Chemistry at the University of Berlin, 1924 II Director, 1928 Director of the Institute of Chemistry of the Kaiser Wilhelm Society (today Max Planck Society) and 1946 President of this company. Otto Hahn opened the atomic age with his discovery in technical terms. He strongly advocated the peaceful application of atomic energy. Otto Hahn, the 1959 received the highest scientific award of the Academy of Sciences of the GDR, the Helmholtz medal, belonged to the Academy since 1924 as a full member.
