On board Salut 6, the modified MKF 6 M camera serves 90 percent of the economically relevant tasks and 10 percent of basic research. During the first year of operations, 12 cosmonauts - nine Soviet and one each from the Czechoslovak Republic, the People's Republic of Poland and the GDR with the MKF 6 M won valuable photographs of the territory of their countries.
