They experiment and put their achievements to the critique of the public at home and abroad. In addition, they strive not only to achieve higher artistic and craft quality through extensive forms of community work, but also to meet the increased quantity requirements. To accomplish all these tasks, which flow on the small enterprises and workshops of this area, it came among other things. as early as 1968 the founding of the trademark association for arts and crafts e.V. of the GDR, which today includes the most important producers of this area of the GDR and supports its members in the artistic qualification, the quality development of the assortments, advertising and public relations and property rights policy. In the almost ten years of the existence of this trademark association, the collective mark of the association "expertic" has impressed the interested public at home and abroad and has become the quality term for high-quality handicraft products from the GDR. The focus is on products from the well-known folk art centers of the Erzgebirge and the Thuringian Forest, which are considered rare in their unity. The socialist cultural policy of our state is aimed at preserving and developing ancient folk art traditions. The illustrated products are excellent examples of the effort to accomplish this task. The "flower ball" is a top performer of artisanal wood turning work of the Erzgebirge. For their design, the artist uses the old Spandrehtechnik. He created a decorative room decoration that corresponds to our current sense of form. This ball, which can be produced in a diameter of 5 to 35 cm and offered in natural wood as well as colored stained in many variants, has already become a symbol of the trademark association. The decorative glass vessels of the Thuringian glassblowers have received the award of the trademark association "Gute Form 1976". They are usable as decorative forms and as vessels for the flower decoration in the living space. Their interesting design language and the clear colors have made them particularly sought-after products. They are handblown and hand deformed. Here too, as with all artisan products, a nearly unlimited variety in shape, color and decor is possible.
