XII. 1976 Olympic Winter Games To the XII. Olympic Winter Games in Innsbruck In 1976, the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications of the German Democratic Republic issued six multi-colored special postage stamps, two of them with a supplement, and a special postage stamp block. The sums raised will be made available to the Society to promote the Olympic idea in the GDR. XII. 1976 Olympic Winter Games On February 4, 1976, the XII. Winter Olympics opened. While the aces of winter sports all over the world prepare for these competitions, the Olympic Games are also prepared by a variety of other measures. Jürgen Dommrich, GDR, currently holds the hill record with a distance of 116 meters.
