A program was developed to interest children in collecting stamps. This created the Philis, five alert stamp agents and a house lion: Mel, Lucy, Gogo, Edison, Sisco, all 12 to 13 years old, and their dog, the Blue Mauritius. They are the contributors to the story, in which the secrets of the stamp world are to be revealed. The first stamp of the 3-part stamp series shows the two girls writing letters to their friends Gogo and Edison. 13-year-old Mel is the oldest of the Philis , Because she can best settle quarrels, even the boys in front of her respect, so she is also the boss of the rascals. She guards the "Operation Kit" and the "Smart Book", things to be written about. Mel is also interested in animals and flowers. Lucy is one year younger and a bookworm. Lexicons, history and geography are more exciting than eating ice cream with the boys. She always carries the Austrokus, the stamp atlas, with her. Her appearance is deceptive, she has it a lot behind the ears and is always up for a joke. She likes to annoy would-be footballer Gogo. Mel has his hands full again.
