With the welfare stamp series 1973 the 24th extra mark series of the German Federal Post Office in favor of the free welfare care appears. The aggregate proceeds go to the Federal Working Group of the Free Welfare, which includes six welfare associations: - Arbeiterwohlfahrt, - Diakonisches Werk, - German Caritas Association, - German Paritätischer Wohlfahrtsverband, - German Red Cross, - Central Welfare Office of the Jews in Germany. The supplements help the voluntary welfare organizations to fulfill their tasks: they provide help everywhere and alleviate the hardship, where public aid is either insufficient or insufficient. From their facilities z. Z. over 3 million people in need of care.
