The welfare stamp series 1972 is the 23rd additional stamp series of the Deutsche Bundespost in favor of the free welfare. The knock-on proceeds go to the Federal Working Group of the Free Welfare. Six welfare organizations have joined forces in this working group: - Arbeiterwohlfahrt, - Diakonisches Werk, - German Caritas Association, - German Joint Welfare Association, - German Red Cross, - Central Welfare Office of the Jews in Germany. The supplements help the voluntary welfare organizations to fulfill their mission of providing assistance wherever public aid is lacking or insufficient.
