Between Liefering's first-built church, which dates back to the 8th century, and the present church, there was a church built between 1150 and 1200, and it is from this original Gothic panels that the painting of the birth of Christ counts. They probably originated around 1465. In 1978 they were restored and hung in its present place on the left longitudinal wall. The Christmas scene, which is 72 x 57 cm in size and made in tempera painting, depicts the Virgin Mary in a loose dress, on which the baby Jesus is lying, and Joseph at her side. Ox and donkey look through the window, in the background are more people to see. The painting is made on gold background. The other panels depict the crucifixion of St. Peter, the decapitation of St. Paul, the Annunciation, and the Saints Peter and Paul, Catherine, Mary with the Child, Barbara, Margaret, Ulrich, and Nicholas.   The Lieferinger parish church has a baroque west tower, which is widely seen through the elevated position of the church. Its unusual dome ensures the special character of the church and its easy recognizability. The church was first mentioned in documents in 790, the oldest surviving parts date back to the early 8th century. Today, the core is Romanesque and the vault Gothic, the portal porch and the altars are from the Baroque period. The nave is crowned by a ribbed vault, and the frescoes from the 13th century are remarkable. Since 1940, the church is an independent parish church, until then it belonged to the parish Siezenheim.
