The present Christmas reel brand, which impresses with its unusual shape, an elegant three-part round arch, shows in her motive Joos vanCleves impressive painting "Nativity", whose original comes from the valuable collection of the Kunsthistorisches Museum Vienna. To the person: Joos van Cleve, actually Joos van der Beke (1485-1540) was a Dutch painter who maintained the leading studio workshop in Antwerp in the second and third decades of the 16th century. The "Leonardo of the North", as he is often called in the art world, learned his training with Jan Joest in Kalkar on the Lower Rhine. In 1511, as a master in the Antwerp Guild, van Cleve created numerous triptychs and Madonna pictures, whose style corresponded to the Flemish school. Yet his works always have one thing in common: They are distinguished by their peaceful atmosphere beyond any excitement. The grandiose paintings of his multi-faceted oeuvre are described by international experts as "gentle and harmonious as the works of his idol Leonardo di Vinci, as rich in detail as the works of the great Dutch masters and as unprecedented in color brilliance". Joos van Cleve's main works are two altars depicting the death of Mary (now in Cologne and Munich), which were previously described as the work of the "master of the life of Mary." Once found the works of the extremely productive exceptional artist their way into the most prestigious European merchant, royal and Kirchenhäusern after Cologne, Genoa and Gdansk to Madeira; Today, his paintings inspire visitors to the most important museums in the world - from the Musée du Louvre in Paris to the National Gallery in London and the Museo del Prado in Madrid to the Metropolitan Museum of Arts in New York and the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna. One thing is certain: Joos van Cleve's art combines the emotionality of the Italian Renaissance with the precision and clarity of the Dutch school. There is no doubt that the development of northern European painting has been a decisive factor, from the very creative creativity on the one hand and the ideas of the at that time innovative workshop management on the other hand. His artistic legacy is immortalized immutably on sensitive oak - because Joos van Cleve has both the right and the best Having the resources necessary to use precious color pigments for his paintings, the surviving masterpieces are still today of a sparkling-original color quality that is second to none.
